  • The child quits school and is either employed and self-sufficient, or is 18 years of age
  • The child leaves the Plaintiff's household, e.g. marries, joins the military, or moves in with the Defendant
  • An adoption of the child occurs
  • The parties reconcile
  • Emancipation age varies in other states. Interstate cases must be reviewed with your officer for determination

Note: If arrears are still owed at the time a court order ends, payments will continue until the arrears are paid in full.
