**Prothonotary COVID Restriction Procedures**

Filings will be accepted by mail, e-filing or use the drop box located at the doorway to the Office.  Return postage paid envelope must be provided.  Emergency Petitions/Filings will be accepted at the counter.  PFA filings/payments will be accepted at the counter.  Certified copies of Divorce Decrees will be processed by mail.  Title Searching will be available by appointment only.  Please call 570-825-1712.

* Effective October 4, 2021 the Prothonotary Office is an official Passport Acceptance Facility.  Please visit our new Passport Services page for more information.

* Please be advised: Prothonotary Records Access - Index Books for Cases Affecting Realty, Federal and Municipal Liens, Judgements & Liens, Grantor and Grantee Corps, Ejectment Dockets and Index to Cases Filed are now available on the Prothonotary Viewer at www.searchiqs.com or by following the link on the Prothonotary Webpage. These records are free to view, with a charge to print and are located under the Infodex tab.

* Please be advised that Divorce cases and Custody cases are no longer viewable on the Prothonotary On-line Viewer.  These cases are now only viewable on the in-house public viewers located in the office. As a reminder,  PFA cases are also not viewable on the Prothonotary On-line Viewer, however they are available to view in-house.

The Prothonotary office is responsible for filing, storing, and distributing official civil documents for the Court of Common Pleas.
