Re-Entry & DRC

Luzerne County’s re-entry plan, implemented in 2010, allows offenders housed at the Luzerne County Division of Corrections to apply for release at half their minimum, or at another increment set by the sentencing judge. If afforded early parole, offenders are required to attend programming and services at the Luzerne County Re-Entry Service Center/Day Reporting Center. During the application process, Probation Officers assigned to the Institutional Parole Unit assist correctional counselors and correctional staff in targeting eligible inmates.

Adult Probation and Parole has officers dedicated to the supervision of offenders released to the Re-entry Service Center / Day Reporting Center. Other offenders under supervision may also be sanctioned to attend if they are at risk of failure and/or violation of community-based supervision.
