Probation Officers complete court ordered pre-sentence reports for the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County. Reports include information on each defendant's criminal history, socioeconomic status, health, drug and alcohol history, employment and financial status, and other information to aid the court in sentencing.
The PSI Unit:
- attends trainings offered through the Commission several times each year and maintain an awareness of updates to sentencing policy, statutes, and sentencing programs/alternatives
- aids the Court in determining offender eligibility for diversionary and sentencing programs
- reports judicial sentencing statistics to the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing

Reports include a Prior Record Score and Sentencing Guideline recommendations. All reports are confidential and are not public record.
