The Luzerne County Department of Probation Services falls under the jurisdiction of the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, and is comprised of three divisions - Adult Probation & Parole, Court Collections, and Juvenile Probation. Probation Services provides a host of services for the judiciary and works in cooperation with other government entities.
All divisions of Probation Services are located on the 3rd floor of the Penn Place Building, located at 20 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Penn Place can be accessed by the public through the building’s main entrance located on Market Street. The building is monitored by Luzerne County Security and the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department and all visitors must pass through security upon entry. Carrying a firearm inside Penn Place is prohibited, pursuant to 18 Pa. C.SA. § 913 (a).
Parking is limited to on-street, metered parking, monitored by Wilkes-Barre Parking Enforcement daily.
Probation Services - Adult Probation & Parole and Juvenile Probation, share an annex office located in Hazleton, at 108 W. Broad Street. Office hours are limited and by appointment only.
Adult Probation and Parole provides community-based supervision for adult offenders sentenced in the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, 11th Judicial District.
The Court Collections Division is responsible for the management, enforcement, and collection of all restitution, fines, and costs, ordered by the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County.
Juvenile Probation provides supervision to pre-adjudicated and adjudicated youth under the guides of Balanced and Restorative Justice principles as directed by the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, 11th Judicial District.
