Probation Services
The Luzerne County Department of Probation Services falls under the jurisdiction of the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, and provides a host of services for the judiciary and in cooperation with other government entities. Probation Services is comprised of several divisions; Adult Probation & Parole, Pretrial Services, Juvenile Probation, Court Collections, County DUI Program, and County Community Service Program.

Probation Services offices are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Penn Place Building, at 20 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Adult Probation & Parole and Juvenile Probation, share an annex office located in Hazleton, at 108 W. Broad Street. Office hours in Hazleton are limited and by appointment only.
Penn Place can be accessed by the public through the building’s main entrance located on Market Street. The building is monitored by the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department and all visitors must pass through security upon entry. Carrying a firearm inside Penn Place is prohibited, pursuant to 18 Pa. C.SA. § 913 (a).
Parking is limited to on-street, metered parking, monitored by Wilkes-Barre Parking Enforcement daily.

Adult Probation & Parole
Adult Probation and Parole provides community-based supervision for adult offenders sentenced in the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, 11th Judicial District.

Court Collections
The Court Collections Division is responsible for the management, enforcement, and collection of all restitution, fines, and costs, ordered by the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County.

Juvenile Probation
Juvenile Probation provides supervision to pre-adjudicated and adjudicated youth under the guides of Balanced and Restorative Justice principles as directed by the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, 11th Judicial District.

Pretrial Services
The Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, 11th Judicial District of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in accordance with and pursuant to the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure Rule 530, designates Luzerne County Probation Services as the bail agency with all duties and powers provided for by said rules.

DUI Program
Probation Services is designated as the centralized office for all referrals and billing procedures attendant to the Luzerne County DUI Program. The DUI Program handles Court Reporting Network (CRN) Evaluations Alcohol Highway Safety School (AHSS), and the Juvenile Alcohol Education Class (AEC).

Probation Services is designated as the centralized office for all referrals and billing procedures attendant to the Luzerne County Community Service Program.
