This program is not an entitlement program. Meeting the qualifications does not guarantee you placement.
If you are going to be absent from your position, you must inform your supervisor and call the Area Agency on Aging office at 570-822-1159, ext. 3320.
If you will be absent from your position for an extended period of time you must call the Senior Employment Program and inform them as to why you are not able to report to your position and an estimated date of your return. If you are going to be out longer than expected, please call us and keep us updated.
The Senior Employment Program will arrange all subsided interviews, placements, and classes. The appropriate paperwork and protocol must be followed. You may not arrange any interviews, or attend classes unless the Senior Employment Program instructs you to.
If you would like to change your Training Site assignment, please contact the Employment Program and we will assist you.
You do not dictate the policy and procedures of the place of your employment. You must conduct yourself in a professional manner. If you are having problems, contact your immediate supervisor, and/or the Senior Employment Program. Remember you don’t have to live with the people you work with; you just have to work with them.
If you do find employment that is unsubsidized, and though you may not have gotten the position through the Senior Employment program, we have assisted you and we are required to document your progress and success. This is to your benefit in the event you apply to the Senior Employment Program again.
Remember the most unprofessional thing you can do is to leave a position in anger and with no notice. This reflects badly on the program, and may make it difficult to find a Training Site for new applicants. You are the representative of the Senior Employment Program in the Community. What you do and how you do it has an impact on the program.
Time sheets must arrive at the Area Agency on aging by 9 a.m. on the Tuesday following the close of the pay period. If a timesheet has not arrived on schedule, you may not receive the check on payday.
Original time sheets must be turned in to the Area Agency on Aging. The time sheets need to be signed by the participant and the training site supervisor.
Please do not use white out on the time sheet to do corrections. If a correction is needed to fix, cross out the mistake and initial it. Write the correct information next to the error.
And, as always, please call us with any concerns or questions you may have.
