2023 Municipal Primary Election - May 16, 2023
The Luzerne County Bureau of Registration and Elections will be accepting nomination petitions from candidates for the Luzerne County Democratic and Republican nominations for county, Magisterial District Judge, city, borough, township and school district offices. Those seeking nomination for minor political parties or minor political bodies should contact the Bureau of Registration and Elections.
Effective for the May 2023 Municipal Primary, all municipalities and school districts must sign off on sample ballots to ensure that the races provided to the Bureau are correct. Candidates will also be required to review and sign off on sample ballots.

The Bureau of Elections completed the 2022 reapportionment for all Luzerne County precincts. Additional information about reapportionment and final maps for the new General Assembly boundaries are available through the Pennsylvania Redistricting site.
