Department Services
The Luzerne County Assessor's Office is responsible for tax assessment in the County. Tax assessment services include:
- Administering all real property tax programs
- Assisting customers with all tax assessment and special program information
- Discovering, valuing and listing all real property in Luzerne County
- Maintaining and updating records of all real property within the County
- Setting and defending assessment values according to a base year system
- Verifying the County’s uniform parcel Identifier to assure the accuracy of parcel identification in all real property

Courthouse Annex Parking Lot
Parking in the Annex lot is for visitors to the Courthouse Annex Building only.
Departments located in the Annex are:
- Assessors' Office
- Register of Wills
- Recorder of Deeds
- Marriage Licenses
- Information Technology
1 and 2 hour parking spaces are available as well as accessible parking spaces. Numbered spaces are reserved for staff and require a permit.
To enter the parking lot from River Street, turn onto W. Jackson Street, make the first left, then bear left to enter the lower lot.
Visitors to the Courthouse, including jurors, should park in the Water Street Parkade instead. The Annex lot is patrolled daily and tickets are issued to illegally parked vehicles.
