Volunteer Internships and Certified Law Student Opportunities

The Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office offers a wide range of important volunteer internships and certified law student opportunities that are available for college or university undergraduate and post-graduate students; and law school students.

Attorney internship positions are available only for attorneys who plan to sit for the Pennsylvania Bar Exam and be admitted into the Pennsylvania Bar.  General internship positions are available for individuals who have been selected to assist with a special project or assignment within the office.

Application Process:

If you are interested in applying for an internship with the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, please review the Application Packet to decide if you can fulfill the requirements of a volunteer position.

After reviewing the Application Packet and determining you meet the requirements and desire to participate in the volunteer program, you must complete the following forms (please print and write legibly; it is strictly prohibited to alter or change any of the forms):

Confidentiality Agreement

Make sure to sign the forms in the areas requiring your signature.  All forms submitted to the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office must contain original signatures.  Electronic signatures on the forms and/or faxed or scanned copies will not be accepted.

In addition to the application, background investigation and confidentiality forms, you must submit the following documents:

     1. Resumé – You must submit a current resumé.

     2. Valid Photo Identification – You must submit a copy of an official, valid photograph for identification, such as a driver’s license, state identification card, military identification card, school identification card or a valid passport.
