Voters with Disabilities

The Americans with Disabilities Act requires that public entities ensure that people with disabilities can access and use their voting facilities. The Bureau of Elections is responsible for the coordination of 180 voting precincts accessible to all voters with disabilities. Every voting precinct is then equipped with voting systems also accessible to voters with disabilities, as required by the Help America Vote Act. Nearly 900 election officials working on any election day are trained to ensure all necessary measures have been taken, providing disabled voters access to the voting precinct and also offering any assistance those voters may need.
