The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport just opened a brand new $41.5 million 130,000-square foot terminal in late May 2006. The Joseph M. McDade terminal has additional ticket counters, baggage belts, and restrooms than the previous terminal offered flyers. The new more modern terminal features high ceilings and skylights, a spacious concourse, a 100-seat bar/restaurant, and high-tech security equipment. There are now numerous computers screens available for people to verify arrival and departure times. The new terminal also offers a peaceful meditation room for travelers to take advantage of and frequent fliers can now unwind in the Pocono Club & Business Center in between flights.
