Hughestown Borough, a Centennial Community since 1979, has a municipal park containing over ten acres of land and is available for playground, basketball, tennis, and baseball activities. There is a Boys League, Girls League and Teeners League for baseball available. We feel that sports provide an avenue for our children to grow, build confidence and develop a spirit of competition to follow them wherever life brings them. The children's area is in the process of having some improvements done and adding to the equipment.

We have a Centennial Pavilion allowing Borough organizations and families to utilize the area for special events and birthday parties for our youngsters. The area is next to the children's playground making it very useful for the youngsters.

Hughestown is proud to announce the recycling program has been implemented, where paper, plastic, yard waste and metal are collected.

Our police force has improved with the hiring of new police officers and a new Chief of Police, Steve Golya. Our Fire Department is providing us with a new building and a fire police vehicle. A new ambulance service has also begun.

The newest addition to the borough is the New Primary Center for first and second grade students. The ten million dollar facility has expanded the sports area.

Together we provide the borough with service for the people.
