GALLERIESSirdoni Art Gallery image Artists flourish in every corner of this beautiful mountain/valley region. Residents, artists, entertainers, patrons and friends of the arts have gathered together throughout the county’s history to make sure that art continues to play an important role in our society. The Widmann Gallery at King’s College is located in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center in Wilkes-Barre. The Cider Painters of America is a group with a light-hearted name and serious purpose; works of art must be smaller than 3" x 5." The Wyoming Valley Art League presents exceptional exhibits, demonstrations, critiques, films and lectures. The Sordoni Art Gallery at Wilkes University presents a range of exhibitions by local, regional, national and international artists. Its permanent collection features American painting from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The Marquis George MacDonald Art Gallery at College Misericordia features a variety of exhibits throughout the year. Luzerne County is also the home of numerous independent professional art galleries, including: Salonick’s Shades of Gray Gallery, AM Art Studio, and Town and Lake Gallery.
