The Victim's Compensation Assistance Program helps victims of crime in Pennsylvania with expenses related to a crime. Eligible expenses considered may be: medical, counseling, loss of earning, loss of support, stolen cash benefit, relocation expenses, crime scene cleanup and funeral expenses. This program is the payer of last resort. Victims must meet eligibility requirements to apply for the program

The adult and juvenile victim/witness units continue to place emphasis on Victims Compensation. Our office has specially trained advocates to answer questions and to assist a victim in filing a claim. In addition, our victim/witness unit will provide follow-up assistance with the claimant and work with the claims specialist at Victims Compensation.

A victim can return the completed claim form with medical expenses, etc. to the: Luzerne County District Attorney's Office, 200 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA  18711, Victim/Witness Unit, for electronic filing or directly to the Victims Compensation Assistance Program.
