Preservation of the Turnbach Family Farm Brings the Number of Acres Preserved by Luzerne County's Agricultural Preservation Program to Over 1,600

(Wilkes-Barre) - The Luzerne County Commissioners, along with administrators of the Agricultural Preservation Program, recently took part in the closing ceremony on the Turnbach farm in Sugarloaf Township.  Caroline Turnbach, along with her son and grandson, turned over the 106-acre farm to the preservation program, keeping the farmland in-tact, and removing it from potential development. According to program director Nancy Snee, the Turnbach farm is the sixteenth farm preserved through the program.  1,680 acres of farmland have been preserved in Luzerne County thus far through the program.
