Several Hundred Residents Enjoy an Evening of Latino Food, Music, and Culture

(Wilkes-Barre) - The Luzerne County Commissioners in conjunction with the Latino Committee of the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center, hosted the second annual "El Dia de la Raza" Hispanic Heritage Celebration on October 12th, 2007.  The evening included traditional foods and displays featuring the history, culture and traditions of Latin American countries.  Highlights of the evening included a number of folkloric dances performed by children under the direction of Jenny Mahuiz, as well as traditional Cuban and Spanish music performed by "Angels on Earth."
