Commission Chairman Gregory A. Skrepenak Joins College, State and Local Officials in Nanticoke for Announcement
(Nanticoke) - Luzerne County Commission Chairman Gregory A. Skrepenak joined members of the Luzerne County Community College Community, as well as members of Luzerne County's Legislative Delegation and elected officials from the City of Nanticoke on September 4, 2007, to announce exciting new plans which will bring two Community College facilities, along with thousands of students, faculty and support workers, to downtown Nanticoke. Plans were outline by the college's Acting President, Thomas P. Leary, at the present Kanjorski Building on Main Street in Nanticoke, which is set to become the college's Health Sciences center. Architect's renderings were also unveiled for the college's new Hospitality Industry center, which will be constructed nearby at the intersection of Main and Market Streets. Commissioner Skrepenak noted that the innovative plans to bring the college campus into downtown Nanticoke is a credit to the vision of the college's leadership and Nanticoke's Mayor and City Council.
