Commissioners Skrepenak, Tucker, Experience "Empty Place at the Table" Display

(Wilkes-Barre) - The Luzerne County Commissioners have declared October 2007 as "Domestic Violence Awareness Month" in Luzerne County.  In a resolution presented by Commissioner Gregory A. Skrepenak and Commissioner Rose S. Tucker during the Domestic Violence Service Center's annual awareness day at the Luzerne County Courthouse, the Commissioners urged all residents of Luzerne County to be aware of the problem of domestic violence and its impact on our daily lives. The Commissioners applauded the outstanding work which first responders, service providers such as the Domestic Violence Service Center, and the criminal justice system do in helping its victims.  The Commissioners also toured the extremely moving "Empty Place at the Table" display, which served as a remembrance of those who lost their lives as the result of domestic violence.
