Luzerne County Honors Members of the Greek-American Community

(Wilkes-Barre) - The Luzerne County Commissioners declared March  23rd, 2007 as "Greek Independence Day" in Luzerne County during a ceremony in the Rotunda of the Luzerne County Courthouse, hosted by Luzerne County Public Information Officer Kathy Bozinski.  A Resolution on the day was presented by Luzerne County Commissioner Stephen A. Urban.  A number of representatives of the Greek-American community in Luzerne County attended the annual event, which was followed by the raising of the Greek flag on the South Lawn of the Courthouse.  One of the highlights of the celebration was the attendance of 3-year old Georia Tsioles, who was dressed in traditional Greek costume.
