Commissioners Present Check for $250,000 to Arts Initiative

(College Misericordia) - On Wednesday, January 31st, 2006, the Luzerne County Commissioners presented a check for $250,000 representing Luzerne County's committment to the Back Mountain Arts Association. The check presentation was made at town meeting for Back Mountain residents at which the recently completed Back Mountain master plan study was unveiled.  The funding presented by Luzerne County will be primarily used to refurbish an old theatre in Dallas Borough, for use an an arts center.

Taking part in the check presentation were Dallas Borough Mayor Timothy Carroll, Back Mountain Arts Association Chairwoman Beth Ann Delaney, Commissioner Todd A. Vonderheid, Commissioner Stephen A. Urban, Rebecca and Chrtis Matus (owners of the theatre building) and Dallas Borough Manager Joseph Moskovitz.
