VisionQuest "Buffalo Soldiers" Reenactment Honors African-Americans Who Fought During the Civil War

(Wilkes-Barre)-In honor of Black History Month, The Luzerne County Commissioners and the Luzerne County Juvenile Probation Department welcomed the VisionQuest "Buffalo Soldiers" to the Luzerne County Courthouse on February 20th, 2007. VisionQuest has been working with at-risk youth and families for over 30 years, and part of its program requires a "living history" component, in which young participants "give back" to the community through performances.  The "Buffalo Soldiers" reeenactment includes performances by young VisionQuest participants who take an anti-violent, stay in school message through cadence and drill steps. On hand to learn more about the Buffalo Soldiers and to enjoy the performance were students from Plains Solomon Junior High School.
