The Luzerne County Commissioners Join Members of the Lebanese-American Community to Celebrate Lebanese Independence Day

(Wilkes-Barre) - On November 20th, 2006, The Luzerne County Commissioners, Row Officers, members of Luzerne County Government and residents of Lebanese descent celebrated Lebanese Independence Day at the Luzerne County Courthouse. At a ceremony in the Courthouse Rotunda hosted by Luzerne County Public Information Officer Kathy Bozinski, a resolution paying tribute to the contributions of the Lebanese-American community and proclaiming the special day was presented to David Lewis, President of the Knights of Lebanon of the Wilkes-Barre area.  Participants then went out to the Courthouse South Lawn for the raising of the Lebanese Flag.  Afterwards, a reception featuring Lebanese foods, including home-made kibbee, taboulah, spinach pie and baklava was enjoyed by all!
