Jackson Township Officials thank Luzerne County Commissioners, Emergency Management for Response during June 2006 Flooding

(Wilkes-Barre) - The Chairman on the Jackson Township Board of Supervisors attended the regular meeting of the Luzerne County Board of Commissioners on January 31, 2007, to thank Luzerne County, and in particular its Emergency Management Agency, for the help it provided the township during the severe flooding in the last week of June 2006.  Chairman Jay Wilkes presented a plaque to Luzerne County Emergency Management Director Stephen Bekanich, and Certificates of Appreciation to each of the Luzerne County Commissioners, commending Luzerne County for its rapid response during the flood event, and commitment of money and manpower and quick work in repairing infrastructure and reopening roads in the township following the devastation.
