Luzerne County Courthouse Holds Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

(Wilkes-Barre) - On December 1st, 2006, the Luzerne County Commissioners hosted the annual Christmas tree lighting in the Courthouse Rotunda.  More than 100 people joined the celebration hosted by Luzerne County Public Information Officer Kathy Bozinski, as Gabby, Olivia, and Luke Richards, children of Luzerne County Human Resources Director Doug Richards, flipped the switch, lighting the 25-foot tree.  The tree, which was obtained from the same Lehighton area tree farm which provided this year's White House Christmas Tree, sparkled with more than 55-thousand white lights.  After the ceremony, visitors were treated to an outstanding holiday performancy by the Bell Choir, Chamber Ensemble and Chorus of the Blue Mountain Academy.  Holiday refreshments, courtesy of the Luzerne County Commisisoners, were served following the performance.
