TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Trail is in planning and design stages. Surface will be packed gravel, for use by walkers, hikers and cyclists.
The Sugar Notch Trail is part of the planned Sugar Notch Residential Development that is in Sugar Notch Borough. The trail will provide access to the Greater Hanover Area Recreation Park, and will connect the park with the Sugar Notch playground approximately a mile away. A second trail is will run from a trailhead at the lower fields of the Recreation Park to a trailhead adjacent to the Sugar Notch Cemetery; this trail will be approximately three miles long.
TRAILHEADS AND PARKING: Planned trailheads and parking at the Hanover Area Recreation Park, near Exit 1 of Rt. 29, or at trailhead adjacent to the Sugar Notch Cemetery.
FUNDING:
The Earth Conservancy has received approximately $88,000 for planning, design and construction of the Sugar Notch trail.
