Camping - 63 tent and trailer camp sites are available along with a complete restroom-shower-laundry-facility. Sewage dumping and water fill facilities are also provided. Pets are permitted following park rules. A special area can be reserved for organized group camping. Contact the park office for more information.
Swimming Pool - The double-sized Olympic pool offers a one-meter diving board. For younger swimmers, a wading pool is available. A complete bathhouse offers lockers, showers and rest rooms. The pool area is also home to the concession stand, which is open during pool hours and offers and variety of fast food.
Boating and Fishing - Although Moon Lake is home to bass, blue gills, perch and trout, it is not just for fishing. Boating is fun and easy with rowboats and paddle boats available for rent. The marina offers bait and fishing supplies. Fishing is permitted along the shoreline at no charge and ice fishing is available during winter months. Launching of any personal watercraft is permitted, however gas motors are prohibited.
Nature Education Center - Open to the public during the summer months. The Naturalist provides a variety of environmental science programs for guests of all ages. Click here for specific activities.
Picnic Facilities - The parks two picnic areas provide tables and charcoal grills along with a small pavilion. A third pavilion is located behind the tennis courts. The picnic areas are available on a first come/first serve basis. The two larger pavilions are available by reservation. Contact the park for more information or to make reservations.
Hiking - The 20 miles of hiking trails do double duty as cross-country skiing trails in the winters. Trail guides are available at the park office.
Basketball / Tennis Courts and Softball Fields - Located behind the park office and are open during regular park hours. There is no charge for use.
Disc Golf - A nine-hole disc golf course is located in the woods across from the pool and is open during regular park hours. There is no charge for use.
Winter Fun - Snow tubing and sledding hills are available during park hours. Snowmobiles are not permitted.
Other Attractions - Moon Lake is home to the Wyoming Valley Radio Control Club. Watch licensed American Models of Aeronautic pilots fly their planes. Moon Lake is also home to several camps through out the summer including the Northeast Scout Jamboree and the Luzerne County Mental Health / Mental Retardation Day Camp.
