Appeal Process
NOTICE
Effective March 1, 2009, the applicable filing fees for tax assessment appeals set by the Board of Assessment Appeals will include the postage and handling for a single set of hearing and decision notices to be sent to the appellant. For each additional set of hearing and decision notices requested by the appellant to be sent to any other addressee, a postage and handling fee of $5.00 will be added to the filing fee charged to the appellant.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
If you care to appeal your taxes, please submit the completed Appeal Form along with a check made payable to "Luzerne County Treasurer" in the appropriate amount listed on the Schedule of Filing Fees to: Luzerne County Courthouse, 200 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, Penna. 18711. You will be notified in writing of the date, time and location of your Appeal Hearing.

If you care to appeal the denial of your application for the Homestead / Farmstead Act 72 of 2004, please submit the completed Appeal Form along with: (1) a check made payable to "Luzerne County Treasurer" in the amount of $25.00; (2) a copy of the original Homestead / Farmstead Exclusion form; and (3) the denial letter to: Appeals Supervisor, Board of Assessment Appeals, Luzerne County Courthouse, 200 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. You will be notified in writing of the date, time and location of your Appeal Hearing.
